As has been mentioned in the lecture on chapter 4, the issues of sovereignty crisis have been major conflicts in the world polity. When a state or a part of state raises the demand to be free from a bigger entity, the natural tendency is to ignore and reject the demand. There have been many major sovereignty conflicts especially in the 1990’s. A violent attempt to secede is not uncommon but it cannot be denied that there have been instances of peaceful divisions too.
